BRUSK forms the heart of Bruges’ Museum quarter. Surrounding BRUSK are the BRON research centre, the renovated Groeningemuseum (reopening in 2031) and a green museum park (2031). Just a stone’s throw away, you’ll find six more top locations of Musea Brugge. Together, these nine sites create a vibrant Museum quarter, comparable to those in cities such as Berlin, Amsterdam and Vienna.
On the BRUSK site
BRON Research centre
BRON is the scientific research centre of Musea Brugge. You can think of it as the brain of Musea Brugge: a knowledge hub for collection research where (inter)national scientists, guides, students and museum staff interact, where there is space to brainstorm on projects and where you can retreat with a book or trade magazine. You will find the scientific museum library, and the consultation room for the collection of works on paper, right in the centre of BRON.
The research centre is located next to BRUSK and is connected by a footbridge to the repositories in BRUSK.

Groeningemuseum
You can also find the Groeningemuseum at the BRUSK site. Here you will discover masterpieces by Flemish primitives including Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling and Gerard David, neoclassicism by Joseph Odevaere and Joseph Ducq, Flemish expressionism and 20th-century modern art by René Magritte, Roger Raveel, and Raoul De Keyser.
From 2027, the Groeningemuseum will temporarily close its doors for a comprehensive renovation. Planned reopening: 2031.
Museum Park (2031)
BRUSK, BRON and the Groeningemuseum are surrounded by a new museum park. The park will be laid starting in 2028. From 2031, the museum park will be a new, green place for interaction. An oasis overlooking the Reie in the tourist heart of the city.
