Detailed programme
In and around BRUSK
During BRUSK FEST you can enjoy a wide range of free activities inside and around BRUSK. And with a ticket, you can visit the two opening exhibitions for the very first time. Capture the day in the photo booth in the Forum. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Relax in the low-stimulus space in Studio 1.

10:00-18:30 'BIGGER PICTURE Connected worlds of Bruges 900-1550' (EXHIBITION)
The ambitious cultural‑historical exhibition 'Bigger Picture' sheds new light on Bruges as a medieval metropolis and shows how the city was connected to the rest of the world for centuries: from Jerusalem to Venice, from the North Sea to the Mediterranean and the “new” world.

10:00-18:30 'Refik Anadol. Latent City' (EXHIBITION)
Refik Anadol’s solo exhibition in Bruges is an absolute first for Belgium. For BRUSK, Anadol created a completely new immersive installation powered by data from the city of Bruges itself.

10:00-18:00 BRUSQUE (Sound artwork)
BRUSQUE is an artistic exploration of the acoustics of the new BRUSK building. In winter, Jelle Vos and Brecht Vanhoutte, together with Gerrit Valckenaers, entered the still empty large exhibition hall. By literally blowing sounds through the space and recording its reactions, they captured the "acoustic DNA" of the large hall. These recordings form the basis for the sound composition BRUSQUE, which can be heard along the path to BRUSK (from main entrance Dijver) during BRUSK FEST.

13:30-17:30 LEGOprint (walk-in workshop)
A workshop for children (+8) and their parents. Instead of building, we use LEGO dots and plates to create pixel art together. Craft and experiment together. Afterwards, you can print your work using a pressure printing technique to take your own unique artwork home.

14:30-15:30 & 16:30-17:30 Theatre: ik zie, ik zie wat jij niet ziet (8+)
What is art? And how does it work? Can you feel art with your heart, nose or ears? What is that spark you feel all the way down to your toes? Is there a difference between looking and seeing? In Ik zie, ik zie wat jij niet ziet, children aged 8 and up discover the art world in a playful and accessible way. By Joke Devynck and Ilse De Koe, in Dutch.

10:00-18:00 Bar Brusk open
Discover Bar Brusk, the newest location of De Republiek, inside BRUSK. We’re opening with a festive twist — slightly different from how you’ll experience us later, but perfect for a first taste of what Bar Brusk stands for. A warm introduction that will make you want to return.

Art installations by Lindert Steegen
Belgian artist Lindert Steegen brings art to the people. He transforms gray areas into vibrant settings with a playful, positive impact on passersby. His recognizable, colorful style is the common thread throughout BRUSK FEST: his interventions appear unexpectedly in the festival zone and transform the surroundings into a cheerful canvas.
On and around Dijver
Urban culture meets the vibrant historic city. On and around the Dijver you’ll find free demos, workshops and performances. Watch the acrobats at the skatepark and join in yourself. Or try your hand at the graffiti wall in the Groeningestraat. Just drop by — no registration needed.

12:00-22:00 Shred the Dijver (Free Skate)
Ready for the final urban day? Grab your board and drop in during the Free Skate at the brand‑new skatepark on the Dijver. Ride the spots at this iconic BRUSK location one last time. Be there, skate hard!

13:30-15:30 I Love Markers: Family Edition (WALK‑IN WORKSHOP)
After the spray cans, it’s time for finer work. During the “I Love Markers” walk‑in session, you can join MC Bullet and the crew on a giant canvas. Draw, colour and tag in full urban style — the perfect low‑threshold way to create art together in the heart of the city.

13:30-15:30 & 16:30-18:30 Rode Aarde (WALK‑IN WORKSHOP)
On top of three large spheres, a new world slowly emerges — a dreamscape of rolling hills, jagged mountains, bubbling springs, safe harbours and wild forests. Anyone who wants to join can sculpt with yellow, black, white and red clay to build a world full of surprises and beautiful moments.

13:40-14:25 & 16:40-17:25 Way to BRUSK (performance)
Be Flat collaborates with 15 young Bruges performers from Exception Movement, the local parkour association. Inspired by BRUSK’s motto “Cut Through Art”, they explore the paths future visitors will take. With surprising movements and audience interaction, the freerunners guide you along the Dijver through the Museum Quarter toward BRUSK’s entrance — each time a unique acrobatic journey celebrating the new art gallery.

14:00-14:30, 15:30-16:00 & 17:00-17:30 I-Puppets - Close-Act (performance)
Eyes lock onto you. Researchers of this planet, explorers of our time, moving as one collective mind. They are searching… and they find you. Strange, funny, maybe even unsettling — explorers of the now.

14:00-15:00 Skate girls & women initiation (WALK‑IN WORKSHOP)
Calling all skate girls! This session is designed for women and girls who want to discover the skate world or improve their tricks in a relaxed, motivating atmosphere. Learn the basics from top skaters and find your own style.

14:00-15:30 & 16:30-18:00 Schervengeluk (WALK‑IN workshop)
Cups, pots, plates, bowls everywhere — light, heavy, straight or crooked… Fragility is all that matters. The “Geluksmakers” of Ghentlemen have everything ready to give luck a little push. Make a wish, throw, and take home your personal piece of good fortune.

14:00-17:00 Mobile Lab (walk-in workshop)
Get inspired by the work of Lindert Steegen and create your own unique composition with pre-designed stamps. Print your design on the spot on tote bags, clothing, or self-brought textiles in the Mobile Lab (the mobile workshop of Het Lab / Het Entrepot).

14:00-19:00 VERweven VERwonderen (walk-in workshop)
Suddenly, a large loom appears on the Dijver. Together with neighbours and festival visitors, you weave a unique collective artwork. The result? A colourful woven piece that will remain in the neighbourhood — a tangible trace of new encounters, stories and conversations.

16:00-17:00 Skate Initiatie "for all" (walk-in workshop)
Even if you’ve never stood on a skateboard before, this is your moment. Open to all ages and levels. Our coaches teach you the basics: safe mounting, your first turns and pushes.

16:30-18:30 Graffiti Family Experience (Walk-in workshop)
Want to create something big with your kids, parents or friends? In this walk‑in session, Sakres and Zirmez teach young and old how to work with spray cans. The focus is on fun and collaboration while giving the Dijver a colourful family vibe.

18:00-18:30 The Grand Finale: All-crew skate demo (demo)
We end the weekend with a bang! Enjoy a unique all‑crew demo — a spectacular show featuring technical tricks and raw energy from Beastwood Crew, Push Skateboard Academy and 911 Skateboards. The perfect closing act for a legendary opening weekend.

12:00-21:30 Pop-up Bar Brusk
Enjoy the flavours and atmosphere of Bar Brusk outside the building as well. At our pop‑up bars in the Arentshof and on the Dijver, you’ll find the same vibe, taste and hospitality as in our new home.

12:00-21:30 Food trucks
With pastries from Crêpes de Mamaloe. And authentic Tuscan ice cream and sorbets from Coco 3 ice cream cart.
360°-stage Arentshof
Laid‑back afternoon tunes and a closing dub party in the atmospheric Arentshof. The strong line‑up was curated by Cactus Muziekcentrum.

Continuous DJ Friendzone (DJ set)
DJ Friendzone is Sunday’s Arentshof Resident. An underground electronics lover and house adept, he’s a fixture in Bruges’ nightlife. For BRUSK FEST, he digs extra deep into his record collection.

15:00-16:00 Roufaida (concert)
Boundary‑pushing, poetic and activist — Roufaida is a pop artist who constantly explores new ideas. Drawing inspiration from her North African roots and Arabic poetry, she translates today’s challenges into unconventional melodies and metaphorical lyrics.

17:30-18:30 Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek (concert)
Born in Hamburg, Derya Yıldırım grew up with the Anatolian heritage of her Turkish parents and the multicultural atmosphere of her hometown. Together with her band Grup Şimşek, she blends the music of her childhood and Anatolian folk classics with global influences. Her live shows give a modern twist to her musical roots, combining her bağlama and stunning voice with the tight grooves and psychedelic elements of the band.

20:00-21:30 Mad Professor (live dub)
Mad Professor is known as one of the most creative and open‑minded producers in his genre. He has worked with roots‑reggae icons like Lee “Scratch” Perry and Horace Andy, and his electronic dub has drawn the attention of artists such as Depeche Mode, Massive Attack and Sade. His live dub show is legendary — an energetic set mixing roots reggae and dub classics with influences from other electronic genres into a true sonic journey.

12:00-21:30 Pop-up Bar Brusk
Enjoy the flavours and atmosphere of Bar Brusk outside the building as well. At our pop‑up bars in the Arentshof and on the Dijver, you’ll find the same vibe, taste and hospitality as in our new home.
BRUSK FEST is an organization of the City of Bruges, executed by Musea Brugge, in collaboration with Brugge Plus and Cactus Muziekcentrum. With the support of Belfius Private, VRT, De Standaard, and Event Flanders.
